Site Manager - Construction

Our client is a well-established Irish Construction Company, operating in North County Dublin & Meath and they are currently seeking a Site Manager to join their team to build high-quality new homes.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this is this an excellent opportunity to join an established and successful company which is growing year on year and has a great history of staff retention.  Site location is in Dunboyne, Co. Meath.

Responsibilities:

  • Management of the day to day running of the construction site
  • Developing programmes of work/work streams
  • Maintaining a constant drive to achieve production outputs to meet targets
  • Managing the workflow of sub-contractors ensuring they’re in line with the programme of works on site.
  • Agreeing sub-contractor's long term and short-term programme and monitoring performance.
  • Supporting the construction manager in delivering the project to the highest quality completed on time and within budget.
  • Ensuring all Health & Safety and regulatory matters are managed including conducting risk assessments, safety files and method statements.
  • Produce accurate, consistent, and professional records, reports and general information.
  • Maintaining an accurate site diary - recording manpower levels for each sub-contractor and keeping detailed notes of all site activities and weekly reports.
  • Carrying out the role of company representation on site and interface between the company and client.
  • Liaising with consultants, subcontractors, supervisors, planners, quantity surveyors and the general workforce involved in the project.
  • Ensure coordination of service providers and local authorities.
  • Facilitating the flow of information between the Design Team and Construction Team.
  • Organising all certs for BCMS
  • Checking plans, drawings and supervision of subcontractors across the project.
  • Chairing weekly site meetings for sub-contractors and construction team.
  • Set standards of behaviour and responsibility for project teams and hold teams to account.
  • Embracing innovation & technology.
  • Ensure that the quality and presentation of the finished product is in line with company expectations incorporating the coordinated effort of the organisations structure.

The ideal candidate must have:

  • Relevant third level construction/engineering qualification and/or a Project Management certification
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in residential building and apartments is preferable
  • Technical and practical knowledge of the building industry, construction details and working on-site, is important
  • Self-motivated people person
  • Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong team-building skills.
  • Analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Strong budgeting and financial management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Package.
